<p><span>This is the working of a pressure tunable microlens. There are two parts to the chip: a reservoir, that you see on the bottom right of the screen and microlens at the top left (Diameter of 700 microns). The two are interconnected by a thin microfluidic channel. Fluid is filled in both chambers and sealed. A second Layer on top incorporates a pressurizing chamber. Compressed air deflects a thin membrane covering the reservoir, displacing the fluid contained in it. This results in the formation of a microlens who&#8217;s focal length can be tuned. Shown here is the response of the lens to ramp and step inputs. The micro features kept under the chip come into focus as the microlens&#8217; focal length is changed </span><br />
