What imapcts does Nanotechnology have on Saudi Arabia?
admin | Feb 03, 2010 | Comments 7
Does it bring more economic or environmental benefits?
Please explain! Thanks
Are they also trying to depend on nanotechnology more instead of depending too much on oil?
i believe a lot of funds have been injected to develop the nanotechnology research and its applications in saudi. I believe a major institute and research center has been created in Riyadh as well as in the newly opened King Abdallah University in Thowal.
The purpose of it is to contribute to the development and the application of it without having to rely on outside sources.
Its applications will serve primarily the development of the pharmaceutical industry and the desalinization industry.
Aramco is also actively investing in it as it may have strong applications and effects in the oil research and production field as well as in the renewable energies.

I think the nanotechnology will bring good economical to saudi arabia, if you know there is more than institute in saudi arabia interest to the nanotechnology.
for example there is King Abdullah Institute For Nanotechnology In King Saud University
they have alot of research about Nanotechnology, it’s just a matter of time to see the patents…

nanotechnology can be implemented in diverse fields medicine, physics, biology, chemistry…etc. it’s a molecule’se of observation, deduction and manufacturing… projects like non-invasive surgeries, molecular studies, genetic modification, stem cell research ..etc are representative examples of what can be done with this potent tool

Saudi needs nano technology to help make crops grow in difficult soils, to supply clean water, better protect vehicles and property and to become less dependent on oil for future revenue and wealth. Her people need to develop better skills, her engineers are innovatory and inquisitive and her medical professional and architects are embracing emerging technology with vim and enthusiasm. Now if we could bottle and import some of that dynamism to……
