Event Description:

NanoSight is pleased to invite you to an upcoming seminar on the NanoSight
technology for imaging, sizing and counting nano-particles in liquid suspension.
The technique represents a leap forward in nano-particle characterisation and
offers substantial advantages over existing technologies such as Dynamic Light
Scattering or Electron Microscopy.

The technology images particles individually in liquid suspension and then
determines particle size on a particle-by-particle basis based on the Brownian
motion of each particle, providing high resolution number distributions even
in very poly-disperse samples. This particle-by-particle approach overcomes
the inherent weakness of DLS where the average particle size is heavily skewed
towards any larger/brighter particles within a poly-disperse sample. The technique
can also work under fluorescence mode as well as light scatter mode and hence
those people working with fluorescently labelled particles/quantum dots will
find the technique of interest.

At the seminar there will be an opportunity to test a couple of your samples
so please feel free to bring samples with you. There will also be an opportunity
to hear more about the background technology and its applications as well as
hear about case studies from users.
