2nd Nanosafety Autumn School. Understanding Human Health Effects and Environmental Impacts of Engineered Nanomaterials

The broad field of nanotechnology is continuously expanding: new applications
of nanomaterials are designed daily and a wide number of consumers’ products
already contains engineered nanoparticles to enhance the products properties,
improving their maintenance and durability. The School will focus on emerging
nanosafety aspects, concerning human and environmental exposure to ENPs.

The second edition of the Nanosafety Autumn School will provide the update
of the state-of-the-art on scientific knowledge and available technical tools
required for an integrated assessment of nanotechnology products. The School
offers the participants a particular integrated approach that includes advanced
physical-chemical characterization, realistic exposure scenarios and the assessment
of toxicological and ecotoxicological effects, in order to perform comprehensive
risk and lifecycle assessments. The School will provide an interactive learning
environment in which the participants will use a combination of approaches to
update their skills and to discuss current open issues pertaining to human and
environmental nanotechnology.

The second edition of the Nanosafety Autumn School is especially designed for
personnel from Research and Academic Institutions as well as from Industry,
Governmental Agencies and Hospital Departments. The School is aimed at people
working on safety issues and epidemiology, as well as senior researchers, young
scientists, Ph.D. students and in fact anyone already dealing with nanosciences,
nanotechnologies and related topics with a particular interest in fate and behaviour
of nanomaterials, exposure and hazard assessment of nanomaterials, toxicity
and eco-toxicity, human and environmental safety.
