The conference will take place over 3 days, and will be divided into sections
that allow focus on topics in Nanotechnology.

NanoMaterials 2011 will feature 2 plenary sessions and 3 parallel sessions
with a change in focus from the previous editions. These 3 programme tracks
will focus on:

• Policy, Business & Finance: Navigating the regulatory landscape, securing
  project funding and how to do business in the global nanomaterials marketplace
• Synthesis and production: Manufacturing efficiencies, upscaling, production
  management and quality control
• Innovations in nanomaterials: The latest developments in nanomaterials,

Opening plenary session in the morning of day 1 and the closing plenary session
in the afternoon of day 2 will present senior industry players providing real
insight into key issues that affect the entire commercialised nanotechnology
supply chain.

The annual PCSI conference is devoted to achieve a fundamental understanding
of the physical, chemical, biological, structural, optical, magnetic and electrical
properties of surfaces and interfaces. These studies include novel growth processes
and interfacial phenomena, new characterization tools, transport, and functionality
of the structures for future devices.

In December 2010, experts from all over the world will gather for the 7th NanoMed
conference in Berlin to discuss the state of the art in biomedical applications
of nanotechnology. The NanoMed conference series started in 1999 and has since
developed into o­ne of the international lead events in this field.

NanoMed Focus Topic 2010 – Nanotechnology-Enabled Diagnosis and
Treatment of Cancer

Every day, the world over, 20,000 people die from cancer. Therefore, understanding
the mechanisms of this ailment, and developing novel diagnostic tools and therapeutic
approaches is o­ne of the main challenges for modern medical basic research.
Nanotechnology can provide a wide range of new weapons against this fatal enemy:
a new generation of specific biosensors, innovative imaging techniques, tumor
treatment by hyperthermia, targeted nanoparticle-based drug and gene delivery
to tumor sites, and photothermy, to name a few.

About a third of the lectures and contributions of the NanoMed 2010 will be
dedicated to this subject.

Covering the entire range of nanomedicine

Beyond the Focus Topic, the scope of the conference covers the entire range
of nanomedical applications of nanotechnology, including, among others,

• drug delivery, targeting and controlled release
• innovative dental materials
• nanobioanalytics and diagnostic techniques based thereupon
• nanomaterials for implants and regenerative medicine
• microbicidal coatings for sterility, general hygiene and drug packaging
• novel contrast agents

This workshop
is intended for newcomers to ellipsometry as well as experienced users. The
workshop
will address new advances and developments in science, technology and applications
of Ellipsometry.

Dr James Hilfiker from J A Woollam and Dr Thomas Wagner from LOT Oriel GmbH

The new T-Solar will be set up on the day and delegates are invited to bring
their samples along for measurement, time permitting. Any samples that can’t
be run will be measured after the seminar and a report generated.

The NLP 2000 is a desktop nanofabrication system that is both simple to use
and readily affordable. Patterns of nano- to micro-sized features (as small
as 30 nanometres) may be created using a variety of materials from metal nanoparticles
to biomolecules. Researchers are able to rapidly design and create custom engineered
and functionalised surfaces using the proven technique of Dip Pen Nanolithography®
(DPN®) to transfer nanolitre or smaller amounts over a large, environmentally
controlled area.

The central showcase for Israel’s excellence in the interdisciplinary
world of nanotechnology, NanoIsrael 2010 follows the success of previous annual
conference. NanoIsrael 2009 brought together industry, academia, investors,
non-governmental organizations and government representatives to focus on current
research, commercial endeavours and future opportunities in nanotechnology.
